Mydentist: Europe’s Largest Dental Care Provider
Mydentist is Europe’s largest dental care provider, providing a network of clinics across the UK. With five million patients and over 600 practices, it has a strong presence in both NHS and private practice dental markets.
It is a trading name for IDH Group, which runs the network alongside a separate dental wholesaling and supplies business. The head office is based in Manchester, with a training facility for all dental professionals employed by the network.
The business is open about its ambitions to continue to grow, building strategies that align excellent patient care alongside affordability and a model that can be scaled up. Employing a wide range of dental professionals from all over the country, it is able to staff the practices it runs in various locations all over the UK and grow talent from within to build the corporate “family feel” that it is aiming for.
With a base in Manchester, the dental practices are spread out all over the UK, with clinics in more than 300 cities. Most clinics can be found in Bristol and Leeds, but it’s a network that continues to grow. As this expansion continues, you will be more and more likely to have a branch in a town or city near you. As they also take patients from NHS referrals, you may likely be using their services again.
The exact hours of any practice will vary, but you can expect the practice to atleast be open between 9 am - 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. If you need dental care and have the question, “Is there a Mydentist near me that’s open today?” Check out the branch locator for more information.
The opening hours are likely to differ on certain days of the year, such as New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas, Boxing Day, and bank holidays. It also offers emergency dental services, so it’s always worth checking to see if one near you is open when you need it.
Asda is considered one of the leading supermarkets in the UK and is a regular sight in many towns and cities. However, there is much more to this supermarket chain than many people might know. Here are some lesser-known facts about the store:
- Their staff have special “smile” vouchers, which they can give customers at their discretion. These vouchers are typically given to customers facing a long queue at checkout or for out-of-stock products.
- They sell fresh produce which isn’t as aesthetically pleasing but still entirely edible in their discount “Wonky Veg Box.”
- It has scooped the ‘Lowest Price Supermarket Award’ from the prestigious Grocer publication for 16 years.
- It first opened as Hindell’s Dairy Farmers.
- The name is an abbreviation of “Associated Dairies”.
The product that it offers is fairly straightforward and easy to understand, as it is the largest dental care provider in Europe. It operates a network of clinics and practices around the UK, all of which it is responsible for staffing. It provides both NHS and private dental services; the bulk of its business is made up of the former.
It is committed to high quality and offers affordable dental care to as many patients as possible. Alongside its headquarters, it runs a state-of-the-art training centre with training courses for its employees. Its staff includes dentists, dental nurses, hygienists, orthodontic therapists, and administrators.
The retailer began with a single store in 1973 in Ludwigshafen, near Frankfurt. After opening 300 more stores across Germany, it expanded into other European countries during the 1990s, including entering the UK in 1994. It plans to continue expanding into new countries and existing markets.
