A Brief History

Mail Boxes Etc was founded in 1980 as a mailbox rental company by Herb Goffstein, Pat Senn and Mimi Senn. They did have other services such as the packaging of parcels and selling postage stamps but their ultimate goal was to create a postal business that they felt people would find far more agreeable than that of the post office in the US.

Their first store was located in Carlsbad, California but it was not long before they had three up and running. By the time the company was just seven years old, there were more than 400 establishments throughout the US and another ten years down the line saw that increase to more than 700. They then began expanding into international markets and the number of branches they were opening worldwide was continuing to grow.

This growth and expansion has led the company to where it is today and despite still being fairly young, no other company in its industry can match it for how fast it is growing.
